Khatmah — developed by Smartouch Technology — is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it.
By using the app you agree to the practices described in this policy.
2. Data We Collect
a. Admins
- Email address: used for authentication and sign-in. We do not store passwords — the system uses one-time codes only.
b. Participants
- Access code: an anonymous code assigned to you for joining your Halaqa.
- Reading progress: pages read and weekly Wird completion status.
- Display name (optional): visible only within your Halaqa if you choose to set one.
c. Technical data
- Session cookies strictly necessary for the app to function — zero advertising tracking.
- Standard server logs (timestamp, status code) for diagnostics only.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use your data solely to:
- Operate the reading circle and track weekly Wird progress.
- Authenticate admin users via our secure sign-in system.
- Send weekly Wird reminders (if you enable notifications).
We do not sell your data. We do not share it with third parties for commercial purposes.
4. Storage & Security
- Data is stored in Supabase — PostgreSQL databases secured with row-level security (RLS) policies.
- The app is deployed on Vercel in SOC 2-compliant data centres.
- All communication is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS.
- No passwords are stored — authentication uses secure one-time tokens only.
5. Data Retention
- Admin data: retained while the account is active in the system.
- Participant data: retained for the duration of their Halaqa.
- You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the data we hold about you.
- Request correction or deletion of your data.
- Withdraw your consent at any time.

7. Children
The app is intended for users aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy periodically. Material changes will be announced within the app. Continued use of the app following an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
